25 people have contacted me since January of this year wanting to ‘assist’, or ‘boost’ or ‘enhance’ or ‘chat’ or even ‘feature’.

I am dubious. As a rule, I do not respond.

Many are no doubt misrepresenting themselves and want a quick buck. But not everyone, I’m sure. Some may be completely on the up-and-up.

The problem is there are so many messages, I can not weed out the good from the bad.

And I DO need help. I just don’t have the resources to take these gambles with people I don’t know.

If someone has made this list and feels I’m being unfair, I apologize. Again, you’ve cold-called me, I don’t know who you are, and considering the number of (mostly phony) appeals I’m getting, the chances are quite high your come-on is just an AI cut-and-paste.

I mean, c’mon, the biggest give-away is that no one on this list has bought my book—despite many gushing on so from the blurb, pretending they know the story, and that makes you a big, fat phony.

I’m curious what the experiences of other authors are. I’m not alone in this deluge, surely. What say you all???

My advice to those solicitors: You want my trust and money — then try harder, spend a few dollars and read the book.
